Pune, Khadakwasla village

Unexplored places near Pune for one day trip

Do you want to explore unknown places around Pune within 50 KMs. One of the best places I found in my quest for new places to visit in Pune is Khadakwasla Village on the bank of the Mutha River.

Many of you have already visited Khadakwasla Dam, Khadakwasla lake, or Sinhagad fort which is nearby Khadakwasla dam. But I am sure, a few of you might have seen the romantic places of the Khadakwasla village on the bank of the Mutha river.

How I found the place:

It was just after the Covid Lockdown opened during the last part of the year 2020. I was planning for a day trip inside Pune which may be within 50 KMs from my place – Hadapsar. We (My Family) planned to visit Sinhagad fort, the lake, and then Khadakwasla dam.

We started early morning for that thinking it will cover the full day. However, the fort was closed during that time and I had a lot of time to spend.

While returning from Khadakwasla dam – just after around 1 KM – there are two ways near the dead end. If you move right from there you will reach Pune city. Since I had time, I thought to move left and explore what is there.

What is the place?

After around 2 KMs inside that, I was amazed looking at the beauty of the place. It is simply heaven on earth. The road goes toward Lavasa from Pune which was at the back side of the Khadakwasla dam and is the Khadakwasla village.

I was driving my S-Cross car with my family all alone. My left side – Mutha River flowing its way from Lavas to the Khadakwasla Dam– at the right side the mighty mountain protecting me.

However, I was afraid. Once you are there, you can only hear the sounds of birds chirping, the flow of wind, and the river. Long greenery over the mountain. Vary rarely you will find people moving or any house. I spend the whole day there with my family. Off course, I found few families there came from Lavasa.

Enjoy My Pics :

It was really an amazing place to visit mostly unexplored by Pune people even. I am sharing few pictures that I have taken there. Apart from this there are many Pune weekend unexplored places. I will share them in separate posts. I also write about best places near Pune to visit, keep visiting my blog and YouTube channel to know more
